Rescue
Rescuing bull calves is crucial due to the harsh realities they often face. In the dairy industry, these calves deemed unnecessary for milk production are commonly separated from their mothers shortly after birth, causing immense emotional distress for both. They may then be sold for veal, sent to slaughter, or face an uncertain future in the beef industry. Rescuing these vulnerable animals grants them a chance at a life free from exploitation and allows them to express their natural behaviors in sanctuaries or responsible rehoming situations.

Adoption
While adopting a steer might not be suitable for everyone, it can offer unique benefits for those with the space and resources. These gentle giants can provide companionship, fostering a deep connection through interaction and care. They can also contribute to land management through natural grazing, promoting biodiversity and reducing the need for mechanical mowing. Additionally, adopting a steer allows you to directly support their well-being, offering them a safe and humane life outside the confines of factory farming.

Sanctuary
Given exceptional care and a comfortable environment, a steer can potentially live a happy and healthy life for up to 20 years, though 15-18 years is more typical. This is significantly longer than the mere 1-4 years they typically experience in the meat industry. With proper nutrition, veterinary care, and space to roam and socialize, steers can thrive well into their senior years.
